Absolutely, that's why I've been itching to have you try a modified .bin that changes the two tables I've been looking at and see how the scaling changes. The one I sent you via TeamSwift PM should work fine (change .txt to .bin)

It's not much of a stretch that the OEM table is done at 6500 because there seems to be yet another enriching routine that occurs 500 rpm before the fuel cut, so that takes care of everything up to 7000 rpm and makes sense without any additional tables.

What I don't get is that the tuners seem to have altered the scale and upped the rev limiter, but the changes made still don't seem to give much headroom for tuning beyond 6500--maybe that's all we get?  I'd love to know the actual relationship between the two tables so I could make my own decisions about how to scale the map.

Yes it looks like there may not be separate idle tables which is a little unusual. I have rechecked the scaling on the fuel tables and I did have it correct. I was re-reading the FSM this evening and I noticed that the fuel injection strategy changes at 6000RPM which may be a clue to what happens over that RPM.

Sorry, I am sort of double-posting here, but I put the other information in a PM, so I guess it's ok.

The OEM I2 code hits addresses in rows 3 and 4 (it bounces back and forth, no way to make it more stable) at 1500 rpm.  Altering the 48E0 table causes the ECU to hit addresses in rows 5 and 6 at 1500 rpm.

I don't know about separate idle tables, but the ECU hits addresses in the "main" table at idle and I've been successfully tuning idle AFRs by altering those cells.

I'll double check the main tables. 48E0 (C8E0) and 4900 (C900) are either the scaling factors for the maps or part of the load calculations. I need to hunt down the idle tables and the higher RPM tables. Now I'm confident that I am setting up the waveform generator correctly I can set idle properly.
What cells on the main fuel table are you hitting at 1500rpm?

Actually, I am certain your row-labels were correct for the OEM .bin before, and your .xdf already showed the OEM limiter at 7456, which is also correct.

8176 is where the limiter on the F6 and I4 Cultus ECUs. 

The question is what other tables, if any, control fueling above 6500 rpm, and that's why I am so interested at the tables at 48E0 and 4900.

And yes I can now run more advanced timing--I am using a map I pulled from a Suzuki Sport chip with good results, and I'm using the OEM map from an I6/I2 ecu as the 2nd table to revert to if knock is detected.

I just posted on Team Swift too--the Cultus ECU seems to have different scaling factors hidden in some portion of the code--I'll have to completely change my maps to get correct AFRs.

Have you checked the rev limit? I make it 8100rpm on the I2, if that's correct then I now have the correct RPM scaling.

I assume that means that its now running more advanced timing? I would expect the timing to be retarded if the ECU detects no knock sensor.

I can now confirm that this information is correct.  I obtained a knock sensor and spliced it into the loom as indicated, CEL went out and ECU now hitting fuel map 1 instead of 2.

hoping i could just get a loom out of an aussie gti and add the knock sensor wire to the loom.

 

You should be able to do this--I am planning to do this on my GT, as I picked up and I4 Cultus ECU and want to add a knock sensor.

 

This Teamswift link says you need pin A15 for the sensor wire (red/blue) and A5 for sensor ground. http://www.teamswift.net/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4433&hilit=knock+sensor+ecu+pin&start=25

i can get some, the biggest thing i ticed was that the b1 and b10 pins for the distributor were not on the loom that came with the motor and there was an orange wire in the loom. All the wiring diagrams i came across dont have an orange wire. There are also other wire colors in the loom that aren't in any wiring diagrams. I believe the loom is possibly from something else and was hoping i could just get a loom out of an aussie gti and add the knock sensor wire to the loom. Will post a pic of the boards tomorrow. Your best bet would be to try Teamswift, I'm pretty sure that its the same a an F5 but with the knock sensor circuits added. I have an F5 on the bench at the moment, have you got any photos of the PCBs?

Would anyone have a pinout for this ecu as i have 2 different wiring diagrams and neither match my loom, im not even sure if the loom i have suits this ecu

Do you have the engine and the other parts that go with this ECU? what you have is a JDM spec Cultus ECU.

Could anyone tell me what vehicle this ECU is From. It's F6 with 33920-64B62, board is number EPI-003. I am retro fitting this motor into a moke as far as i can tell its a MK2 engine. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
