The way the diagnostic system works is that you request data from a specific address, the ECU returns some data and then you translate that into readable data. Different types of ECU have the data at different addresses so we need to know the 'address map' ie what address contains what data and what scaling, if any, needs to be applied. The 'mapping' is contained in a csv file in the bin folder and can be edited in Excel.

You should find the ECU under the dashboard somewhere, it will be marked 33920-xxxxx, if you start a new thread in the ECUs section, headed with the part number then I will try and talk you through determining the mapping

regards

James

14D2 is not currently supported, however RV should default to showing raw data which allows some reverse engineering to be done on the address mapping. Can you please tell me what the part number of the ECU is? and where you are located?

Hi,

I have a question. I have a Suzuki Alto 1996 and i want to use the Rhinopower software to read for example the fault codes
In this car the OBD1 is used.
With a simple terminal prog (Termite) with baud rate 15625 i can communicate with the ECI
For example i can read the ECU ID
send: 0x10 0x03 0xED
response: 0x10 0x05 0x14 0xD2 0x05
or TPS voltage
send: 0x13 0x04 0x0B 0xDE
response: 0x13 0x04 0x03 0xE6

But if i use the Rhinopower software (v0.84) and try to connect i get an error (floating point error 1.22).

What is wrong ?
Is maybe the ECU not supported by the software ?
