Here is a close pinout, try reading it with EcuFlash

 Hi

I have many Mitsubishi roms and the original for this ecu and use only ecu flash.

the issue is that the laptop crashed during a flash and I suspect it was during the erasing period.

When I try to program it fails to program at hex 20000 which is where Mitsubishis bootloader is stored .

The program size is hex a76 and without it stored on the ecu the only way to recover it is on the bench through the con2 port as suggested by tech support .

From reading the documents tech support suggested I’m in the process of setting up an arduino to do the programming through the con port.

Thank you for your suggestions they are great appreciated

Can I see your ROM file?

The boot sector is not erased. If the BOOT ECU pin is connected from openport 11 pin, then the ECU should go into write mode.

The rom is 128kb of “FF” so there is nothing to read in it.

Hi without the Mitsubishi bootloader present there is no way to upload a program over Mitsubishi mut protocol.

Thank you.

Bob.

These blocks are read by OBD, this block can be raised from any state, through OBD and Bootpin

That looks like a port for a bootloader, have a look at the datasheet, page 529. I think that would be a later 5V programmable device.

That’s funny have been focusing on that particular page all day , the arduinos are out and attempting to make the sequence required.

i still don’t know if it’s the dual power or signal power they reference in the manual.

What is CON2 connected to? is that a programming header? did you take a copy of the code before attempting to reflash?

I have done a quick pinout of con2 ill attach a picture ,pins 71 and 19 do not go directly but ultimately end up in there respective positions.

Yes the original file saved.
Is this port usable ?

Is it possible to recover a H8/500 after a failed flash?

From testing I believe the boot loader to be missing .
