Hi. I'm intending on transplanting an M16A engine into a classic car using a Jimny RWD gearbox. If I went for a Swift Sport engine, would I be able to use the ECU from the swift too? I think it would run better this way, rather than using an aftermarket ECU and having to map it. I've heard stories that some modern ECUs don't run if disconnected from the body control module, CAN bus etc. The other option would be a Liana engine but this has a few less BHP.
