I have a G13BB Engine mounted and running on a fabricated chassis which was taken out of a Maruti-Suzuki Esteem VXi from year 2007. The ECM / PCM details are as follows:
ECM / PCM: 33920-66ES 0
Euro - 3
Make: Denso (India)
This engine is being used to check the efficiency and meaningfulness of a high energy ignition system designed by me over last few years. Presently the engine is in stock condition and running as it should. There is no load connected to it but later on an alternator (82.5 KVA) would be coupled to the engine via a 2:1 reduction gearbox. The engine is planned to be run at 3000 RPM in order to run the alternator at 1500 RPM. I need to record all data pertaining to the engine before and after modifications for sake of comparison and fine tuning of the fuel delivery system.
The engine has a 16 pin OBD2 type connector with pin numbers 4, 5, 7 and 16 connected. Pin 4 is Ground (Body), pin 5 is Ground (ECM / PCM), pin 7 is Serial Data Line (K Line of ISO 9141) and pin 16 is +12V.
From my readings what I understand that this is so called OBD1 / EOBD / Pre-OBD2 ECM / PCM using a SUZUKI Proprietary bi-directional communication line at pin 7. Also, this would communicate using an ALDL cable connected to COM port of a PC. Getting or fabricating an ALDL cable to connect the port to PC is not an issue with me. I need to know whether RhinoView can communicate and capture all the data from this ECM / PCM? And, if not, then what can I do to get log the data? I'd be thankful to anyone who can help me with this.
Regards...
