Has anyone worked with the pre OBD2 Australian ECUs?
We didn't get OBD2 compliance until 2006. I believe the E24 ECUs used SDL, until the M13A in 2000. I have pins 7 and 9 on my connector, so I suspect it's the SDL/KWP protocol, however I have got around to trying to hook up hyperterminal to confirm this.
I've done the M15A conversion (M13A ECU, M15A injectors) and I'd like to read the diagnostics from the O2 sensor to determine the A/F ratio performance, with the possibility of adjusting it or remapping if it can be flashed.
The E24 didn't have an immobiliser, I had considered using an EU OBD2 compliant ECU, but this will require keys etc and that's a headache I dont need.
If I manage to get it talking, I'll post any progress.
