There is no serial link on that ECU. I looked back at a previous thread and the model that we worked on previously was from a coil sprung model:

Thank you!

Someone else reported this previously, the serial link is present but the connector is not. If you have a picture of the circuit board then I may be able to confirm this.

Hello James,

I can't seem to find that connector on a 96 Samurai.

We also have an extra Spanish Samurai (96+) wiring loom and we don't seem to have any luck on finding it either.

In 1999 service manual  (00000A01326) is specified that ECU B15 pin is connected to a 12 pin data connector.

Is there a way to know if an ECU board is SDL enabled by looking at a screenshot?

Also, might this be an incompatibility between Japanese and Spanish versions?

Thank you.

The early Samurai models do not have a serial diagnostic connection so the SDL interface cannot be used. The 1996-on Samurais use the same ECU as the 96-on Vitara 8V and do have the diagnostic connection.

HI,

I am from Romania, and i have a 96 Samurai.

I have your interface which works like a charm with my wife 2000 japanese Jimny.

How can i connect the interface to this Samurai ECU?

The car has no 16pin SDL interface, just the 6 pin diagnostic connector.

ECU P/N: 33920-81C70

Thank you.
