I've not seen a Zexel ECU, the diesels usually have a Denso ECU. Unfortunately diagnostics on the diesel Mazdas isn't very good, its a problem with the early Miatas and Bongos as well, you have to insert a jumper in the diagnostic socket to flash the codes through the glow plug light. Have you got the six-pin monitor coupler fitted to the loom? the Mazdas have a larger socket with a number of functions, Suzuki, I believe, uses several different sockets for diagnostics. Have you got the FSM for the European model, the SE420D?

Just doing a diesel swap into a 1998 SV418 (Canadian spec) and using the drivetrain and all harnesses from a donor TD31W I sourced in Japan. The engine and control electronics are a Mazda RF 2.0 ltr. turbo. I am interested in finding out if there is any English documentation on this ECU or if it is related to any of the other Suzuki ECUs. The manufacturer of this ECU is Zexel and the customer's part# is RFM7 18 701A (which is a Mazda part#). The ECU as used in this application does not appear to have any diagnostic connectors.
(Oops, wrong topic - Mod, please move to Suzuki ECUs)
