Ahhh I see - well I will be ordering a SDL cable shortly then :) I will have to have a look at TP, although i think RV has more features than I will need !! - but you never know do you smile

Yeah its taken 3 years to get it to this point so Im looking forward to taking it out on the road, I just need to make sure I have followed the 280page IVA reg's manual to the letter, once I'm through that I'm sorted!!

Thanks again for the help. smile

You can get real time data from the ECU using the SDL interface, RV supports the Swift and there is also a Tunerpro definition which allows you to use TPs very impressive logging capabilities. I've been using that myself on the bench here while tuning an ECU with a guy in the US, he logs the data and I can play in back on my PC in real time, slowed down or sped up

You don't need to touch the six-pin socket, it is actually disabled while scanning.

I noticed the lights and plate on the buggy, I'm aware of IVA, that'll be quite an achievemnt to build something from scratch and get it certified for road use.

Rhinoman, thanks for the info, looks like I will be ordering a SDL cable then !! - If im using the SDL cable I can still get real time data out of the ECU cant I? and do I need to do anything to the 6 pin plug (the one you put a jumper into to get the CEL/MIL light working) or can I ignore that if im using the cable? (Sorry for asking all theses newbie questions!!)

As for the Buggy, yes I designed and built the whole frame and suspension - well everything really - I just need to tweak a few bits, finish the lighting loom and fit the wheelarches and then she will be ready for the IVA test after strip down and paint anyway :) (IVA is the Road legal test for Kit Cars and one off's like mine)

68E00 is SDL only. The ones that I have seen haven't been reflashable, the later 68E40 is and may be able to be reflashed to suit a 68E00. I've been giving that some thought of late. The problem with these ECUs is that they are a dual processor and the timing processor can't be reflashed, it doesn't matter if the cam sensor is the same but they changed those a few times between models during that era.

That buggy looks like tremendous fun, I bet its pretty quick. Did you build the frame yourself?

Rhinoman - thanks for helping, the details on the sticker on top of the ECU are:

A0

1.0 MT EEC

33920-68E0 0

68E0

MB112000-4424

12V

Denso

Then right at the bottom there is a barcode - does that help? - I must admit when I saw the ecu port was the same as a OBD2 I tried a OBD2 scantool (Just a cheap one off ebay) but it does not connect, which if this is SDL would expalain why!!

What is the part number of the ECU? all the 99s I've come across have been SDL.

Hi everyone I'm building a 1999 Suzuki Swift 1.0L 3 Cylinder powered road legal buggy, Ive almost finished it now (been working on it for 3 years) but was wanting to take a closer look at the ECU, however I incorrectly identified the connection port as a OBD2 port mainly becouse it looked correct (wont make that mistake again) but it only has 3 wires, looking at the tech info on this site it would seem to be a SDL version can anyone confirm that? (it was a stock 1.0l G10A 1999 model)

Oh and to show you what its powering now here is a small video :)
