Connect 5V and GND to convenient points on the PCB.
Baleno 65G60 This ECU has an area with no tracking that makes a convenient point to mount a 10-pin BDM header. I used a piece of 0.1" stripboard as a template to drill the holes and the superglued the connector in place before wiring it.
The signals all have test pads that can be wired to, the power supply connections can be soldered either side of the de-coupling capacitor C731.
Disable watchdog by cutting track between C405 and IC401 then link between the pads after programming.
Jimny 81A11 ECU
For this ECU I only needed to attach a header temporarily so I mounted one on a piece of stripboard. There are a couple of wires that must be soldered directly to the processor pins. For this I used a soldering iron with a 0.6mm tip. The watchdog must be disabled as shown above.
