Thats the same code that mine returns so I don't know of any reason why the software wouldn't work. I now have four different ECUS that all return the 1112 ID so I am planning on doing some more tests when I get my new test set working. Please provide more details of your hardware.

Hi
I am setting up a bench test, I have obtained another ECU (33920-56B80) that returns 1112 as its ID so I'm going to run tests on that one as well to verify that it behaves the same as the one in my car (33920-70E10).
I think that there may be a second identification number which indicates a variant. Can you lease set your ECU up with your interface and use RS232 Hex Comm Tool (or something similar) to check the address 0B, see the image below:

ID test

Source code looks OK, it seems to work fine on my 1112 ECU. Some interfaces have a problem with the voltage drop during starting, make sure that you start the engine before you plug in the interface and start the software.
Cheers
James

A link would be good.

What is the ID number of your ECU?

James

The local Suzuki dealership has a Tech 2 - I have a fairly good relationship with a couple of the people there (including the GM, who, in fact, was quite impressed when I showed him Rhinoview 0.5), so if that can be used to pull data from my ECU that would assist in any way - let me know and I'll talk to him.

The first link the software won't run. The second link is Regressor's code, it displays the ECU ID 1112 or whatever but it looks like it will only properly display data from the 1701 ECU, 1701 is Regressors own Suzuki Escudo.

Edit: the first software runs on XP, doesn't look all that useful though.

The guy I was working with was called Regressor, he is still working on this, and he has some pretty cool looking software. He only seems to post on the Russian forums:

Unfortunately I don't have a copy of the simulator software, I lost that a few years ago when I had both hard drives crash. I wouldn't have been any good anyway as it used my own protocol which was based on NMEA 0183, I used that on the ECU that I designed myself. For basic testing of my software I used RS232 HexComm tool and I send the data via that. To do that I have to disable the timeout in the software, without the timeout the software will lock up if it receives any bad data. I haven't been at home so I haven't been able to check it, 1112 is the same ECU ID as my Vitara so the software should work. Have you looked inside your ECU? mine has an EPROM and I can remap it.

Line K is OBD2, you should be on pin 9 on an OBD2 connector or on pin M on an ALDL style connector.
Are you getting an ECU ID number in the bottom right hand corner when you press connect?
From the picture that you posted of the display it looks like you are getting data OK at the start and then it is locking up because of bad communications. It should recover automatically from bad data but I have to comment that code out when I test, I will check my code tonight to mke sure that it is not still commented out.
Try using a serial port monitor to see what is happening on the serial port, you can download a trial version from here:

What interface are you using?
Try to connect to the ECU only when the engine is running, sometimes when the vehicle is started the battery voltage drops too low and communication to the PC is lost.

I will look at that it sounds like a communication problem between the ECU and the PC/Laptop, I have only seen this happen when the PC polls too quickly. Can you try running the software with ECU ID set to 0000, that will display the data at the addresses used by the ECU and should eliminate any problems caused by reading data from unadjusted addresses.

Hello, I've been spending time with my 1996 engine ECU 8V Vitara single point and now I have succeeded in communicating with the ECU.

ECU Model 33920-70E40 (6H) 15625 bds

I have C + + routine to check the connection port and the software before connecting RhinoView 0.5. Great joy when they succeed in obtaining some data using the method of soft ECU (1112)

Only RPM, Voltage, ATS (C) and 02sensor.

But the problem seems to have the data and represent them in the 0.5 soft Rhinoview data are dynamic, ie should remain frozen when (updated RPM, TPS, etc) any ideas?

Sorry my English is very, very bad. !

Hola, he estado trabajando durante algún tiempo con mi ecus Vitara 1996 motor 8V monopunto y ahora he tenido éxito en la comunicación con la ECU.

Ecus Modelo 33920-70E40 (6H) 15625 bds
