SDT is the test equipment that the Suzuki dealers use, I don't think that it is a seperate protocol. The Swift Euro 3 ECU that I looked at was OBD2 using the KWP2000 protocol although it wasn't always possible to connect to it using a generic scantool. Have you looked inside the ECU? sometimes the pin designations are marked on the PCB, OBD1 is labelled SDL and OBD2 is usually labelled ST. Without reading the code from the ECU I can't say for sure what the protocol is. The newer models don't usually have any capability for reading fault codes using the Check Engine Light.

HI, Like old model wagon R,the monitor terminal (Socket) inside fuse/relay box in engine room is not used in Euro3 model. Also On board dignostic is SDT and not OBD1orOBD2.Is there any way to find error code in new model(Euro 3) by connecting a jumper between two terminals? Maruti service centre people say that without connecting SDT,the code cannot be viewed...any idea? Thanks a lot
