The immobiliser unit gets the code from the key and transmits it to the ECU, tthe ECU transmits a code to the immobiliser, if all the codes match then the ECU will fire the ignition system. It is not possible to bypass the immobiliser because it is a function of the ECU.
An immobiliser problem will cause the Check Engine Light to flash on key on.
There isn't a schematic but the connector pin-out is here:

The immobilizer is a function of the ECU so it is not possible to bypass it. The immobiliser unit gets the code from the ignition key and transmits it to the ECU, the ECU transmits a code to the immobiliser, if both codes match the stored codes then the ECU will fire the ignition. If the codes don't match or there is a fault with the serial link then the Check Engine Light will flash on key on.
You should check that the injector is getting a pulse using a noid light and that the injector resistance is around 1Ohm. Don't be tempted to hotwire the injector to test it because it will burn out.
The usually failure of these ECUs is the cpacitors inside the ECU.

Hi amasing site hope you can help with information on testing for cause of no start on santana motors built vitara built around or before 2000.
The problem I have is been unable to find a wiring diagram that matches this vehicle.
I am a automotive engineer with 3 scan tools just added key coding to my Hanatech multi scan but dont think vehicle is covered.
The brain fitted is a 33920-70e10 and imobolizer is 33970 70e02
It would be fantastic if I could get a wiring diagram of engine management system with emobolizer wiring so I have a chance of checking the basics.
Dose the imobolizer system have a code name. Can you tell me what the imobolizer actual disables and if posible to bridge it out.
Our vehicle dose fire up on easy start so have got ignition

Any help would be great as vehicle is driving me mad.

Tony
