Hi,

When you say "reprogram by serial data link", were you referring to SDL cable I have got from you.

If so, can this be done through Rhinoview or other software?

It is theoretically possible to reprogramme using the SDL interface but no software has been developed for it, also it requires 12V to be applied to one of the pins to enable programming. A number of years ago I did do some work on these ECUs using a BDM but as it was a parallel port device I no longer have a PC that supports it.

You need to check the base timing and resistor first and then you can add that correction into the remap of base timing. base advance at idle and low loads should be kept stock to maintain compliance with emission regulations.

So when mapping base ign table its proberly best to put the 0 deg resitsor in so that what the new ign advance is the engine will actually get.

I've done quite a lot of work on this ECU but I need to update this thread. The base ignition timing can be adjusted by changing the ignition trim resistor under the dashboard, the standard values are:

Part Number                Mark    Resistance         Advance
33926-76G1010-5
33926-76G20282-4
33926-76G303160-3
33926-76G404270-2
33926-76G505430-1
33926-76G01                      N6800
33926-76G60610001
33926-76G70715002
33926-76G80822003
33926-76G90936004
